Sebab, media merupakan alat untuk memberikan sebuah informasi bagi masyarakat. Namun, jika berita yang diberikan mengandung hoax, maka berita yang telah dikonsumsi akan salah. Sehingga, akan menimbulkan sebuah kegaduhan dalam masyarakat.
Sementara itu saat ditemui beberapa awak media, AKBP Kamal Bahtiar, Waka Polres Kota Ternate pada, kawmis (14/15/2017) menegaskan, Hoax itu berita bohong, bagimana mencapai suatu tujuan untuk memenangkan salah satu tujuan mengunakan anggaran yang besar. Media sosial adalah ruang publik dan ruang terbuka kalau ada tersingungan seseorang atau kolompok, institusi dan simbol-simbol Negara itu akan di proses. Karena hal dan pihak kepolisian serius untuk menangani karena media sosial tersebut yang menciptakan politik hitam, dan hujatan kebencian. Sehingga Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) Maluku Utara dan Bawaslu Maluku Utara, bisa melaporkan jika ada penyebar berita hoax.
