Panglima TNI Jenderal Gatot Nurmantyo berkunjung ke Pondok Pesantren Tebuireng, Desa Cukir, Kecamatan Diwek, Kabupaten Jombang, Jawa Timur, pada Senin (18/9/2017). Kedatangan Panglima TNI ini dengan didampingi seluruh pejabat utama dari Angkatan Darat, Angkatan Laut dan Angkatan Udara serta Gubernur Jawa Timur Soekarwo untuk berziarah ke makam Presiden RI ke 4 RI KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur).
Pengamatan di lokasi, setibanya rombongan disambut ratusan santri, pengurus ponpes seperti KH Hakim Mahfudz yang mewakili KH Solahuddin Wahid, Gus Irfan Yusuf Hasyim, ibu nyai Lilik Wahid (adik kandung Gus Dur) serta beberapa pengurus lainnya. Sedangkan dari unsur Forum Komunikasi Pimpinan Daerah (Forkopimda) Jombang terlihat ikut menyambut Wakil Bupati Hj Mundjidah Wahab, Komandan Kodim 0814/Jombang Letkol (Arh) M Fathurrahmandan Kapolres Jombang AKBP Agung Marlianto.
Usai beramah-tamah, panglima TNI dengan didampingi pengurus pondok menuju komplek pemakaman keluarga Tebuireng untuk ziarah dan tabur bunga. Beberapa pejabat dan TNI juga ikut melakukan tabur bunga bersama panglima di pusara Gus Dur, Kiai Wahid Hasyim, dan Hadratus Syaikh Hasyim Asyari.
Jenderal Gatot Nurmantyo mengungkapkan, acara ziarah ke makam para pahlawan merupakan agenda rutin menjelang peringatan HUT TNI ke – 72, 5 Oktober 2017 mendatang. Kegiatan serupa juga dilakukan pada tahun lalu jelang HUT TNI ke – 71. “Tujuannya adalah mengingatkan kita semua untuk bisa mencontoh bagaimana jiwa juang yang diwariskan para pahlawan yang diantaranya dimakamkan di sini."ucap Gatot Nurmantyo usai tabur bunga.
Masih menurut Gatot, sebelum ke makam Gus Dur dia bersama rombongan juga ziarah ke makam Presiden RI pertama Soekarno di Blitar. Selain itu, Panglima TNI nantinya juga akan berziarah ke makam pahlawan lainnya. "Kita tidak boleh melupakan sejarah. Karena sejarah merupakan hal terpenting dalam keberlangsungan Bangsa dan Negara. Kita menyerap spirit semangat berjuang pantang menyerah dari para pahlawan."tegasnya (dit)
