Dalam momentum kedatangan Presiden Republik Indonesia Joko Widodo, sejumlah Mahasiswa yang tergabung dalam beberapa organ gerakan seperti, PMII, SMI, LMND, Serta BEM STAI – Al Khairat Labuha, pada (22/10/2017), mengadakan pertemuan khusus, membahas terkait dengan kedatangan presiden di Maluku utara, khususnya Halmahera selatan, dalam mensuksesi ivent Widi Internasional Fishing Tornament (Wift).
Dalam pertemuan sejumlah Organisasi tersebut melahirkan sikap, bahwa menolak WIFT yang tidak menguntungkan bagi masyarakat Maluku utara, dan juga menolak kedatangan Presiden ke Halmahera Selatan.
‘Bahmid Hakkun, selaku kordintor BEM Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Al-khairat Labuha, mengatakan bahwa kedatangan Presiden Joko Widodo, di Maluku utara, khususnya Halmahera selatan, tidak membawa kemakmuran bagi masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, kami atas nama mahasiswa yang tergabung dalam sejumlah elemen gerakan tidak sepakat dengan kedatangan Presiden ke Maluku Utara.
“Pemerintah Provinsi Maluku utara, dan Pemerintah Kabupaten Halmahera selatan, seharusnya sadar dengan kondisi masyarakat yang sekarang, apalagi kedatangan Presiden menguras anggaran daerah yg tidak sedikit, “ujarnya
Lanjut Bahmid, harapan kami selaku Mahasiswa, seharusnya Pemerintah Provinsi Maluku utara, dan Pemda setempat, harus lebih pandai dalam melihat kebutuhan serta kepentingan prioritas apa yang harus diberikan pada masyarakat Maluku Utara. Sebab, masyarakat bisa makmur tanpa WITF. “Tergantung pada kelola pemerintahan yang baik.”tandasnya (fad)
